Re: So few
"Most users don't have their business emails configure to their smartphones because they like to have their business and personal life separately. Having a business email configured will have many advantages and disadvantages when your out of office. "

Shakeeb, I cannot agree with you. Most of the peoples configure their all mails to smartphones because of convenience and ready access. They don't want to open multiple devices for reading personal and business mails. Convenience is an important factor in busy life schedule.

Plug Ins
"Google rolled out a new application for mobile devices running its Android operating systemsoftware that gives users a unified inbox for a number of different email accounts, including Yahoo, Microsoft, and Gmail accounts."

Nathan, this is very much required. Most of the users have multiple accounts with yahoo & windows along with Google. So they are looking for a one point solution for all such accounts. Recently Yahoo also released some plug ins for Chrome browser.

@pcharles-  Sometimes having official email on your smartphone is a pain. Most people expect you to respond to their emails even when you're on leave.

It's amazing to see Google supporting other email service providers. Indeed this is a good initiative to retain their existing users.

@danielcawrey,

I wish I could be one of those folks. I check way too much biz email on all devices I touch. A shame I tell you.

So few
I am surprised that so few people check business emails on their smartphone. I would have thought the numbers would have been a lot higher than that.

Maybe people are over the idea of getting work-related messages mixed up with personal ones. I know the feeling.
