Buyer's Guide: Tablets For Business
This is a nice guide for enterprises, highlighting just how many different use cases there are for enterprise tablet adoption. This might get those who still believe they're in an industry untouched by tablets thinking about some ways they could get value out of them. For example, I was skeptical of the need for a salesperson to carry on-demand analytics around with them (couldn't you just push some slides to the tablet to show customers and update them every month or so?), but it got me thinking about how some industries might need just that. What if we're not talking about pulling in a new customer, but collaborating with an existing one on a factory floor? You might need to look over the numbers together on the spot.

I also checked out the full version, and I'd recommend doing so to anyone reading this. I was happy to see it included more of the fun stuff (like peripherals and what kinds of devices are good for different kinds of workers) that consumers/employees will probably be looking for, as well as delving into some more serious topics like security, compliance, and storage concerns. All that really ties the whole thing together, because we're looking at a pretty complex web here. If the enterprises interests aren't met, then disaster is bound to result in breaches, compliance problems, or unforseen expenses down the road. If the end user's needs aren't met, then productivity sinks and the ROI goes down the tubes. Do yourself a favor and do your homework.
