Re: Holiday tech support
"I'm all for old-fashioned bartering. I got a lovely bottle of Grey Goose when I edited (and mainly rewrote) a friend's resume and cover letter. (I didn't open the bottle until AFTER I'd finished working on his CV!) He got the job, so I guess it was a good investment!"

Alison, good but we used to offer such services free of cost to our friends and relatives. It's part of good will and later in some other instances they might help in return too.

"I told my friends and family that they better start showing up with gifts when they want some free tech support! My neighbor baked me a pecan pie the other day when she accidentally messed up all the settings on her iPhone. She made the pie before she even called me... Yes, bribery will get you somewhere ;)"

StaceyE, you have good friends and families. My friends are trying to squeeze maximum from us while seeking helps.

Impactnow, friends and family plans are good options to be considered.

@ Whoopty

Glad to hear I am not the only one that gets hit with "Hey can you look at this for me" whenever there is a family gathering!

I particuarly like when family members call at night, late, and say "you're not on the SKYPE!" And "the SKYPE doesn't work"....
