Apps are old, connections are new
To give you a bit more on what's new, SAP has been talking about predictive maintenance for a long time, and John Deere has been a lighthouse customer that has pioneered that app. What's new with this IoT Edition is a bunch of connectors for machine formats like SCADA and other data standards. SAP also had a whole yarn, as always, about SAP Hana and its big-data capabilities, but I decided to spare you that hype. If you're an SAP customer, the cruicial question is, are you interested in the app?
