Re: Tell Me
@Paul,

Yes, that was my thought: the function's use will be tied to its ability to understand whatever users ask. I haven't used the web apps much so I can't speak much to Tell Me's functionality there, but Cortana's natural language abilities are quite impressive. So there's hope that this will be a useful feature-- and not just because it omits Clippy's animations.

Make it "Tell Me Where You Hid it This Time"
Dear Microsoft: We wouldn't need "Tell Me" if you wouldn't keep moving things around every couple releases. Stop messing with the user interface just because you can.

Re: Tell Me
I hope it is much more user friendly than the previous versions. It sounds quite interesting for now.

Re: Tell Me
Great point. If the user doesn't explain in a way that "tell me" understands then it's not going to work.

Re: Tell Me
Pauls681, I personally think it will do good if it is able to comprehend all the requirements of the users which sometimes will not be explained well by them. I am also a victim of often having to search menus to find a particular advance function.

Competing with ERPs and competitors
Michael, despite the big data revolution and ERPs doing their job of extracting/shifting everything from spreadsheets into their own database, the need for Office tools has existed. I hope Office 2016 is able to maintain its standing in that context. The need for Word, Powerpoint and Visio is there still and in my opinion, their competitors (such as Google docs) have failed to outrun Microsoft in desktop/laptop environment.

Tell Me
The tell me tool might be "cool?" but I'm not so sure how much use it will get. I can see my users asking me instead of using tell me. I'll be the tell me tool. It's a good idea I'm just not so sure how many users will actually use it.
