Re: UI troubles
I have to say the UI looks fancy from the first glance but making everything 3D is really unecesary. 3D and other gripping effects are importance for video and  gaming but for UI, the end user would prefer a concise, clean and easy to learn/use one. I think the FireOS UI is not so user friendly.

Re: UI troubles
It really is disappointing, the Kindle Fire got attention quickly but I don't know of anyone raving about it today.  That should have been a signal that something was wrong.  The UI is turning one group of people off but now we see pricing turning people off to the Fire phone and those two are the biggest things that kill smart phones.

UI troubles
I wasn't impressed with the Kindle Fire interface and was disappointed with some of the UI decisions Amazon made. Your review shows me they're still making the same decisions and this is disappointing.

Re: Poor Battery
Poor battery life is an important consideration that users take into account when purchasing a mobile device. There might be potential for Amazon's database of coded objects, good for the market place that requires buyers and sellers to trade -- for that a buyers needs to locate and identify a product. But, the database will not be useful until it has gained scale and the ability of the phone to process information through pictures/cameras to begin the database search process.

Poor Battery
Battery life is so important to me, I would rather take a lesser screen in order to be able to keep my phone up and running.

I don't think that this is necessarily a requirement for everyone, but it certainly is one for me. The Fire phone probably has a marketable consumer segment - just like its tablet. I'm confident Amazon will do find with this device, and learn from problems associated with its first iteration of this.
