Re: digital tardigrades?
Extremely interesting, I was expecting a combination of workstations, for the creation bit and Cloud farms, for the rendering part, and was not expecting that 3D rendering studios had to maintain their own in-house farms -- mainly because of the variable nature of their computational needs.

As for Cosmos, I think it is a good show, but it would have been better if it had contained new information, I didn't see any information that was not already out in the public domain through shows like Nova, etc.

Re: digital tardigrades?
I can see why studios want to try and wrangle low costs from digital production budgets. But I guess I always thought that the reason why big-time films were so expensive these days is because of the CGI.

We're always hearing about what the total budget for a movie ends up being. What I'd be interested in know is how much of a budget is in IT expenditures.

I bet it is more than most of us realize.

digital tardigrades?
I watched that show and it didn't occur to me the tardigrades would be digital. But that makes sense when you consider that no one has seen one with the naked eye anyway.
