"The Fire is a vending machine disguised as a tablet." Can't word it any better! And most people don't get that part and constantly engage in the pointless comparison with the iPad.
I'd buy an iPad, if it wouldn't be so ridiculously overpriced. It is a nice consumer gadget, no doubt about it. But in the end I'd use it the same way as 80% of iPad users, which is exactly those features the Fire is designed for. So why waste my money?

Here's an official statement from BestBuy about the BlackBerry Playbook:

Sunday, November 20th, Best Buy offered $300 instant savings to the BlackBerry PlayBook, reducing the price to $299.99 and $199.99 for the 32 GB and 16 GB, respectively. Customers have responded very positively to this short-term promotion available until Dec. 3 and, as a result, we are currently sold out of our inventory. We will have additional units available in the near future, at which time customers will be able to purchase the devices online at www.bestbuy.com.

Next time, please check your facts before drawing to such absurd conclusions.

Apple did have a sale. The iPad2 was on sale on Black Friday on Apple's website. It was discounted 8% with free shipping and engraving.

It's a shame apple doesn't offer items for sale. Oh Wait, don't they have iTunes? If they don't, they aren't very wise not to sell a product that can make them more money! I am glad I chose a smart company to buy my vending machine from! :") Your post kind of sounds like sour grapes? I say, to each their own, there is plenty of room for both Apple and amazon products, heck I must not be alone since amazon.com have sold so many Kindle Fire's in such a short amount of time. I love how for some odd reason it makes the apple loving snobs so very upset?

The Fire is a vending machine disguised as a tablet. Amazon got it right!
As for the iPad...we have three...I access facetime from work and have the kids show me via the iPad that their homework is done...needless-to-say...GREAT!!
