Mercury Makes Web Analysis And Wireless Testing Acquisitions

BeatBox tracks Web user behavior, and Intuwave m-Test helps automate testing of wireless services on smart phones.

Mercury Interactive Corp., a maker of business-technology-optimization software for Web-based applications, on Monday reported it has made a pair of acquisitions.

In a deal that closed Sept. 1, Mercury acquired privately held BeatBox Technologies Inc. for $14 million in cash. BeatBox's technology tracks user behavior, such as clickstream traffic, page performance, application errors, and visitor sessions on the site. The technology helps identify and analyze interaction with business applications.

Mercury also said it has purchased United Kingdom-based Intuwave Ltd.'s m-Test wireless-testing technology, which helps automate the testing of wireless services running on select smart phones. The terms of that deal, which closed on July 26, weren't disclosed.
