Other than in well-controlled testing runs, a self-driving car will be seen nowhere in the foreseeable future. Isn't it obvious? Is Musk trying to fool us, or has he finally succeeded in fooling himself.
There is one driving innovation that may be possible in the not too distant future, and that is what I'll dub as "The Intelligent Intersection". By that, I mean that if, at an intersection, there is no north-south traffic and there is a red light halting east-west traffic that's ready to go, why not have the intelligence in place to change that red light into green?
