@Kelly22 yes, I bought it once at the request of my kids. It does  have some protein but also loads of sugar and fat.

@StaceyE yes, I'd think people today wouldn't buy into the pastries as a sound choice for nutrition. They would possibly find them acceptable as something to be eaten for pleasure rather than for a meal.

@Ariella Ha! I remember when Nutella came under fire more recently for promoting the same healthy-breakfast message. Delicious, sure, but there are far better breakfast options than Nutella on toast (as much as I hate to admit it).

I love the old 80's commercials. Some of the same products are still running commercials, but they have lessened their claims of nutrition and being healthy...lol.

@Technocrati whenever I see old commercials on YouTube I find myself amazed that we took it as normal, particularly commercials in which housewives sing the praises of Hostess for keeping the family home for breakfast. That's right, a nutritious start to the day begins with a fat and sugar-loaded, artificially colored cake.
