Re: Apple Watch, Sony Xperia Z3 And Other Hot Summer Gadgets
Has the Apple watch really had that much buzz? I heard all the hype but thought it kind of dropped off - plus I'm kind of routing for it to fizzle out ala Amazon Fire Phone (or whatever that thing was...)

Re: Apple Watch, Sony Xperia Z3 And Other Hot Summer Gadgets
One thing's for sure; it feels like summer already. It's hot as anything here in New England! Feels like just yesterday I couldn't leave my house due to a mountain of snow. I do associate summer with new gadgets; maybe it dates back to taking my Game Boy on family trips. I doubt I'll be making any big purchases this year, but this was an enjoyable read. I was surprised to see you didn't include prices, but it's nothing a Google search can't take care of. Funnily enough, although you mentioned the Phantom 3 would be a 'crazy' purchase due to it's price at $1250, the 12-inch Retina Macbook is actually more expensive ($1300-$1500, depending where you look). Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

The IO Hawk, too (which looks like it's only available for pre-order?), clocks in at about $1500. No thanks on all three counts (though I am sufficiently amazed that I can watch 720p streaming video from a drone on my smartphone). If I had fifteen hundred bucks to blow, I'd go for the Weber Grill,  the Surface Pro 3 (or maybe just a nice normal laptop), and something else on this list... or just save couple to spend on grilling meats, craft beer, and suntan oil. I do cringe every time one of my friends puts their smartphone down on a table to try and play music, though. Maybe I'll need to an invest in a Bluetooth speaker. Happy summer, everyone! Remember to be careful with fireworks... IT people can't get jobs without our hands.

Phantom 3
I just watched the video of the Phantom 3. The quad is a thing of beauty. If I only have a thousand bucks.

I'm certain movie creators will love it

Segway skateboard
A Segway skateboard is a really fun way of getting around IT sectors while attending meetings and conventions. This could be a real head turner and give you the "cool guy" outlook if you enter meetings standing atop it.
