Take Quick Screen Captures in OS X

Here's how to take screen captures on your Mac.

BYTE - Here are some quick key combos to capture screens on the Mac.

Fullscreen Capture creates an image of your screen as you see it. If you have a second display connected, it will save both. To do this, hit the key combo: Command [SHIFT][3]

Or select just a specific portion of the screen to capture. For this, hit the key combo: Command [SHIFT][4]

To capture just a window, use the key combo: [Command][SHIFT][4]

As soon as you see the crosshairs, hit [SPACE]. This turns your cursor into a screenshot camera. Use it to highlight any window and click to capture.

Anything you capture will automatically save to your desktop as a .PNG file.
