Stern Takes Satellite Radio Show Online

Sirius Satellite Radio jock Howard Stern is out to attract a new Internet audience, announcing plans Monday to offer a free four-hour program live online.

The show, scheduled to air online Oct. 25 and 26, aims to promote an Internet radio service Sirius launches this week. Listeners can access the show uncensored show by logging on to the Sirrius Web site. The two-day free trial of "The Howard Stern Show" marks the first time his show has been available to a non-paying audience since he left Clear Channel radio in December 2005.

Sirius's new online service offers about 75 channels of programming, without the need to buy a satellite receiver, for a monthly subscription fee of $12.95, the company said.

The online channels include Sirius Football Radio, Elvis Radio, Jimmy Buffett's Radio Margaritaville, Little Steven's Underground Garage channel, Eminem's Shade 45, BBC Radio 1, and the Metropolitan Opera Radio channel, as well as Rolling Stones Radio and The Who channel.
