RenewData Introduces Software For E-Mail Archiving, Compliance

RenewData, Austin, today unveiled ComplianceNOW, with new e-mail archiving, compliance, secure messaging and mailbox management capabilities to compliment its electronic discovery systems.

ComplianceNOW scans all e-mail messages prior to being sent for content that violates regulations or corporate policy, sends encrypted messages through an integrated secure messaging module and archives the secure messages in a non-encrypted format.

The software can also be used to block and quarantine e-mail messages that violate the lexicon rules for supervisory review prior to release, the company said.

ComplianceNOW classifies all messages based on types of violations or records and applies retention periods. Messages are archived in a data warehouse allowing for searching across large amounts of data. It stubs old messages in e-mail servers and automatically off-loads the messages to the archive for storage and retrieval, according to RenewData.

"ComplianceNOW enables corporations to proactively establish a flexible evidentiary foundation for regulatory compliance, audits, investigations and litigation by capturing, preserving, accessing, reviewing and producing relevant e-mail," said RenewData president and CEO Bob Gomes, in a prepared statement. "RenewData’s governance based approach and technology enable organizations to dramatically reduce the costs associated with compliance and litigation."

RenewData also rolled out the ActiveVault Discovery Engine, a new browser-based hosted program that allows users to search, organize, review and produce e-mail and native files. The Discovery Engine also tracks the legal review history for each document so that privileges can be consistently applied across multiple matters.

The Discovery Engine can be purchased either as module of ComplianceNOW or as part of RenewData’s existing electronic discovery services.
