Panasonic Introduces Ultra-Mobile Toughbook

Panasonic came out with the Toughbook CF-U1, a ruggedized ultra-mobile PC that can run a full version of Windows XP or Vista.The new Toughbook, "engineered for the walking worker" according to Panasonic, measures 7.2 x 5.9 x 2.2 inches and weighs 2.3 pounds including two batteries. It has a 5.6-inch backlit touch screen and a backlit thumb keyboard, supports WiFi and Bluetooth, and includes a solid state hard drive. It supposedly will suvive a four-foot drop and resist rain, spills, and dust.
Optional features include a bar-code scanner, GPS, RFID reader, and camera. Prices start at $2,499, with an expected ship date in August.CNET Crave, ChannelWeb
