More on E 2.0 Dashboards
The BrainYard - Where collaborative minds congregate.
A few weeks ago I discussed the concept of an Enterprise 2.0 "dashboard" that could combine feeds from a number of different services and integrate information into a common user view into their social networks. I mentioned Xobni as an effort to build such a dashboard by pulling external social network information into a user's Microsoft Outlook in-box. Since then IBM Lotus demonstrated integration of LinkedIn into Notes 8.5, allowing Notes users to see LinkedIn information for their contacts.
Now there's yet another startup to watch....
Gist, currently in private beta, is similar to Xobni but goes a bit further. Gist, as discussed on Mashable, integrates your Outlook contacts with LinkedIn and Gmail to integrate contacts, events, and company information into a single view. Pull up a contact, and Gist will show you attachments, news from LinkedIn and other sources, blog posts, company information, and I'm told even tweets.
It's refreshing to see the development of the Enterprise 2.0 dashboard is in full swing, it will be more exciting to see how these services evolve, and how they continue to tie in not only social networks, but real-time communications and collaboration services.
