Fujitsu, Red Hat Partner In Linux Development
Fujitsu Limited and Red Hat said they have started building enterprise features for Linux.
Fujitsu Limited and Red Hat said Friday they have started building enterprise features for Linux.
The joint development work, which has begun at Red Hat's Boston office, is part of the alliance the companies announced in May. The development operations will eventually be expanded to Fujitsu's facilities in Japan and other countries.
"Building on our global alliance with Red Hat announced in May, we are forming this Joint Development Organization, through which the two companies can share technology and know-how, in order to provide comprehensive support and give our customers additional confidence in choosing Linux solutions," Akira Yamanaka, president of Fujitsu's Server Systems Group, said.
In addition to the development alliance, Fujitsu Siemens Computers in Europe has expanded its single-source support network for Red Hat Enterprise Linux products, and started offering on Friday the Raleigh, N.C., company's software to Fujitsu customers.
