Do Quick Screen Captures on Your Mac

Use these quick key combos to take various screen captures on your Mac.

To do a full-screen capture, use the key combo [CMD][SHIFT][3]

To capture a selected area, hit [CMD][SHIFT][4]. This will create a crosshair cursor for clicking and dragging a specific portion on the screen.

To capture a window, use the key combo [CMD][SHIFT][4]. As soon as you see the crosshairs, hit the spacebar. This will turn your cursor into a camera. Use it to highlight any window and click to capture. It also adds a nice dropshadow.

Anything you capture will automatically be saved to your desktop as a PNG image file.
