Lost in the iPhone hoopla have been the few details released about Apple's upcoming Snow Leopard version of OS X. Most interesting to businesses will be its built-in support for Microsoft Exchange servers. The Exchange support means that the OS X applications Mail, iCal (calendar), and Address Book (contacts) will be able to access data on Exchange servers.

Other new features will include enhanced support for multicore processors, theoretically possible support for up to 16 terabytes of RAM, and improved ability for applications to access graphics processing units.

Snow Leopard is scheduled to ship in about a year. It is also widely being referred to as "OS 10.6," but Apple has not assigned it a version number yet.Webmonkey, PC Magazine
