If you live in one of the six cities participating in Global Social Media Week, next week is jam-packed with parties, networking and educational events. The week of February 1st has been dubbed, "Global Social Media Week". This year six cities are participating: Berlin, London, New York, San Francisco, Sao Paolo and Toronto. Over 100 events span the week and cities and if you are an entrepreneur or consultant, you should be at as many events as possible. The majority of the events are free which gives you no excuse not to attend.

Some of the events are already sold out or at capacity but most have waiting lists.

Here are some of the events that will be held during the week:

Berlin

London

New York

  • The mayor and social media - how NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg used social media to help his campaign last year

  • Media Camp - un-conference focused on social media, mobile and blogging

San Francisco

  • Lunch 2.0 - a popular networking group - this time they will meet at LolApps

  • SF NewTech - a large gathering where several startups demo each month

Sao Paolo

  • Events in Sao Paolo are centered around the following themes: society, culture, business, communication and participation.

Toronto

I will be attending some of the events in New York. Send me an email if you would like to meet.
