Iomega Reworks Triple-Interface External Drives

Iomega ships three triple-interface designs of its newly reworked external hard disk for the home and small business backup market.

Iomega Tuesday shipped three triple-interface designs of its newly reworked external hard disk for the home and small business backup market.

The drive, which comes in capacities from 160GB to 400GB, now feature FireWire 800 connectivity as well as FireWire 400 and USB 2.o, as well as bundled auto backup software that saves multiple file revisions and will mirror the current Windows image for full-PC restoration.

Iomega's new External Hard Drive boasts a reworked enclosure that lets users with stack drives atop on another, or stand it vertically for space savings. Other features, said the San Diego, Calif.-based backup hardware maker, include a Kensington security slot.

Compatible with both Windows and Mac systems -- backup software for both OSes is included -- the drive is priced $199 (160GB capacity), $279 (250GB), and $429 (400GB).
