Inverse Network Technology is launching a management systemthis week for tracking and enforcing network service-levelagreements that guarantees performance levels from desktopPCs through a service provider's network, regardless of whoowns the equipment. IP InSight lets businesses monitorservice levels of outside providers as well as internalnetworks. Service providers, looking to validate servicequality to their customers, can also use the software.
IP InSight uses passive monitoring from agents loaded on PCsand active tests from points within the network to gatherperformance information. That information is collected bymanagement applications, which interpret and report results.The system includes IP InSight Dedicated Operations and IPInSight Dial Operations, which supply network managers withtemplates to create baselines, thresholds, and alerts togauge service. IP InSight Dial Care gives help-deskoperators information to fix remote users' dial-up problems.IP InSight Service Level Performance Reports issuessummaries on performance.
Inverse sells IP InSight as standalone software that runs on WindowsNT or as a service. Pricing for 1,000 clients starts at $26,000. Asimilar deployment operated as a service is $10,000 a year.
