Interop Day Three: Keynotes, Cloud & Security

Join us for compelling keynotes, the Cloud Connect Summit, and a brand new cyber security crash course.

Good morning and welcome to day three of Interop Las Vegas! Keynote presentations start today, along with a full lineup of sessions across ten technology tracks, plus several special events.

We kick off our keynotes with Google Fellow and Senior VP for Technical Infrastructure Urz Holzle, who’ll share his experiences at the bleeding edge cloud computing and talk about what’s involved in building and running infrastructure at Google scale.

We’ll also hear from the General Counsel of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Kurt Opsahl, who’ll talk about Internet freedom vs. NSA surveillance. He’ll give an overview of the NSA’s surveillance program and delve into the known facts about the technology behind the program.

We’ll conclude with Adobe CIO Gerri Martin-Flickinger, who’ll discuss IT’s essential role in the digital age, how to get the most out of enterprise data, and how organizations can capitalize on the next era of IT innovation.

The Expo floor opens immediately after the keynotes. See hundreds of exhibitors as they showcase the latest enterprise technology. You can also tour the InteropNet NOC, see whiteboard sessions in the SDN Lab, and take free classes.

If you’ve got a fitness tracker, you can take part in our 10K Steps Fitness Challenge. Once you reach 10,000 or more steps, show your total to an Interop staffer at the Interop HQ on the Expo floor and win a prize!

New to Interop is the Dark Reading Cyber Security Crash Course. This one-day event, which runs from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm in Mandalay Bay D, provides ‘speed reads’ on key security areas, reviews the latest threats, and gives attendees an opportunity to ask essential questions in a collegial environment.

Attendees will come away with a better understanding of the most critical dangers in areas such as cloud and mobility, and insights into the tools and practices that can mitigate those dangers.

The Cloud Connect Summit begins today with a full day of compelling presentations on how to leverage cloud for strategic advantage and stay ahead of emerging cloud technology.

Sessions include a discussion of the composable enterprise, managing applications across hybrid clouds, OpenStack pros and cons, cloud economics, and workload migration.

If you haven’t already, download the Interop Mobile App. The app has the full conference agenda with times and locations, an expo map, and an activity feed to share what you’re up to at Interop.

Have a great Wednesday! If you have questions or comments, please contact me at [email protected]
