6 Free Learning Opportunities At Interop

Interop's free Expo Pass gets you access to educational opportunities, hands-on training, keynotes, and peer-to-peer networking.

Interop Las Vegas has a compelling lineup of workshops and sessions for its upcoming conference. But we know IT budgets can be tight.

That's why we’ve also got great learning and networking opportunities available with our free Expo Pass. Here’s six of them.

InteropNet Tours & Classes

InteropNet is a custom network that provides connectivity for exhibitors and attendees. It’s built from the ground up every year by a team of volunteers and by participating vendor providers that contribute equipment and engineers.

Besides connectivity, this production network serves as a live demonstration of the principles of interoperability that are part of Interop’s DNA.

It’s also a classroom. InteropNet engineers provide tours of the network Tuesday through Thursday, and our provider partners offer free training courses. This year’s InteropNet classes include troubleshooting, network monitoring, wireless challenges, and more.

SDN On Tap

Software Defined Networking (SDN) has the potential to transform the way networks are designed and operated. Expo Pass holders can get up to speed on the latest in SDN developments.

One way is via the SDN Lab, a test environment developed by the InteropNet team to demonstrate SDN systems and applications. Available on the Expo floor, the Lab offers whiteboard sessions and demos, and attendees can talk with lab participants to learn first-hand about SDN concepts.

NEC is also offering an SDN Tutorial on Tuesday April 28. The company has set up a virtual environment to let attendees get hands-on experience with SDN with a simulated network and use cases. Please note there’s a 50-person limit for this tutorial.

Expo Floor

Hundreds of exhibitors will have their latest products and services available for display and demo on the Expo floor. From brand-name companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Dell, and Huawei to IT startups, you can see the latest innovations in networking, security, mobility, cloud, collaboration, storage and more.

You can also join us for the Best of Interop awards on Tuesday night, and see all the finalists and winners at the expo.

Keynotes

Get insights from industry leaders and IT practitioners at Interop’s keynotes on Wednesday April 29 and Thursday April 30.

Speakers include Kurt Opshal, deputy general counsel of the Electronic Frontier Foundation speaking about NSA surveillance; Brian Shield, VP of IT for the Boston Red Sox on managing IT talent; and Gerri Martin-Flickinger, senior VP and CIO of Adobe on how to capitalize on IT innovation.

Vendor Tech Sessions

Vendor tech sessions are held Tuesday through Thursday. Find out what's new from companies such as Cisco, HP, CenturyLink Cloud, Level3 Communications and Barracuda Networks on topics including security, cloud, mobility, troubleshooting and software-defined WANs. These sessions are available to everyone.

Receptions

One of the best parts of a live event is the opportunity to make connections with your peers. We provide a couple of opportunities to relax and engage with other attendees at our Welcome Reception on Tuesday and our Interop Happy Hour on Wednesday. Come by and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks.

Whether you register for the free Expo Pass or a paid conference package, I hope you’ll join us at Interop Las Vegas.
