Intel on Thursday increased its revenue projection for its ongoing fourth quarter, citing stronger-than-expected growth for its processors.

The company expects revenue for the quarter to between $9.3 billion and $9.5 billion, up from previous guidance of between $8.6 billion and $9.2 billion.

During the company's midquarter briefing, CFO Andy Bryant said the chipmaker had underestimated growth associated with the annual "seasonality" of its sales, which generally show improved growth in the fourth quarter. He said Intel saw "stronger demand across the board" for all its processors than had been expected.
