Industry Watch: What A CEO Wants



To hear some CEOs tell it, their companies haven't begun to master the challenges or, in many cases, the opportunities presented by IT. "We haven't paid enough time looking at the human dynamics," Best Buy Co.'s Brad Anderson says. "We still struggle with the issue of E-mail in our culture," adds Siemens' Klaus Kleinfeld. Those two joined the top executives of Accenture, Flextronics, and Premera Blue Cross last week in a roundtable discussion on IT and business productivity hosted by Microsoft group VP Jeff Raikes. Their technology wish list includes easier-to-use products, better knowledge-management and collaboration tools, faster data sharing, and visually rich but easy-to-operate executive dashboards. "We're nowhere near the end of this road," Flextronics' Michael Marks says. "We have a project list as long as our arm about the next things to do."
