Re: Exciting Times
I thought they were all really innovative in different ways. The blood test startup hit home: We recently went through something in our family where we had to wait for almost three weeks for a relative's blood test results. Talk about painful! Now, I realize the startup is in its earliest stages and is focusing on flu -- but at some point in the far future, the technology could, ostensibly, analyze blood much faster for a variety of conditions, deficiencies, and mutations, eliminating days or weeks of fear and speeding diagnosis and treatment.
I must add, I also saw many innovations on the back-office, billing, and infrastructure side of healthcare but chose to focus on more patient-facing startups for this piece. There is a LOT going on in health tech right now, that's for sure!
