Gotuit Provides Scene-Tagging For Video

Video will stream from the hosting site, while the scene metadata would be delivered by Gotuit to the viewer.

Gotuit Media has launched online tools that let users of the company's video search engine tag and share individual scenes within a clip found on popular hosting sites YouTube and Metacafe.

SceneMaker, launched Tuesday, aims to offer people the option of sharing through e-mail only the scenes that interest them, or to post the scenes to blogs or Websites. For example, a favorite joke in a 10-minute comedy clip could be video-marked.

While the video would stream from the hosting site, the scene metadata would be delivered by Gotuit to the viewer. Tagged scenes also would be available through Gotuit's "InVideo" search engine on the company's site.

"By adding SceneMaker to the Gotuit portfolio, we are empowering the community to discover and experience online video in a whole new way," Mark Pascarella, chief executive of Gotuit, said in a statement.

Besides offering online video search and viewing, Gotuit also licenses its media platform to broadband video publishers.
