Nicolas Cage will star in a 2007 film adaptation of Marvel Comics' Ghost Rider. A companion video game will be released simultaneously.

2K Games will publish Ghost Rider, an action title featuring Marvel Comics' Ghost Rider, the Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. publishing label said Tuesday.

The game will be based on both the classic comic book series and the Columbia Pictures/Marvel Studios' version of Ghost Rider expected to hit theaters February 2007.

The Columbia Pictures/Marvel Studios' film adaptation will star Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, and Wes Bentley. Ghost Rider, scheduled for release with the movie, will ship for console and handheld systems by Climax Group.

The Ghost Rider script will follow motorcycle stunt rider Johnny Blaze as he strikes a deal with the vile Mephistopheles for immortal soul. Now, Johnny Blaze must forever ride, night after night, hosting the powerful supernatural entity known as the Ghost Rider, according to 2K Games.

The video game continues the storyline, dropping players into the role of Blaze as he transforms into a superhero with powers to avenge any evil he encounters.

Featuring many of the characters and motorcycles from the comic book and movie, Ghost Rider aims to immersive the gamer into hand-to-hand combat and high-speed motorcycle action.
