A new musical comedy about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs is proving popular on the Off-Broadway stage.

"NERDS://A Musical Software Satire," is playing as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. The limited-run production is on the boards for six performance, through Oct. 2. All shows are sold out, according to the festival's Web site.

The show includes such potential future classics as "Let's Merge," "Windows Rap" and "I am Just a Nerd."

An apparent lyrical highlight, according to a statement issued on behalf of the show's promotors, is this ditty:

I could buy the whole world with only just a third,
Of my fortune, I'm cool now, haven't you heard?
This Microsoft Office is no longer for a nerd,
My Outlook Excels me to my Powerpoint -- Word!!

In the statement, promoters describe the show as "an outrageous take on the parallel stories of Gates and Jobs" as they rise from "garage inventors to warring titans."

The show, which began Sept. 20, at Off-Broadway's Beckett Theatre, stars Sean Dugan as Gates and Anthony Holds as Jobs. The music for NERDS was written by Hal Goldberg; its book and lyrics are by Jordan Allen-Dutton and Erik Weiner.
