Do you remember what you were doing 25 years ago? Some of you may not have even started out in your information-technology careers, while others may have been well entrenched. Or maybe you were studying programming in college with the hopes of landing a job in a field that was called MIS back then. In 1979, InformationWeek was just starting out (it was called Information Systems News then) and it's utterly amazing how much has changed in the world of technology since then. The growth, the speed, the power, the size, the cost, the productivity, the dependence, the competition, the ups, the downs, the smart ideas, the crazy ideas, the next big thing and then the next, the leaders, and most important, the strategic thinking behind technology's ability to drive business innovation--it has all been quite remarkable.

As we prepare to celebrate our 25th anniversary in October, we'd love to hear your stories (long or short) about your most exciting moments in business technology--whether they were last week, last year, or two decades ago. What technologies have had the most impact on your business or your personal life? Who has inspired you the most? How long have you been reading InformationWeek? And, for a really tough question, what do you think the next 25 years will look like? That's a topic we're putting a lot of thought into as we prepare for a special issue coming next month.
