Computer Sciences Corp. posted $1.93 billion in revenue forits third quarter, ended Jan. 1, up 15.9% over the sameperiod a year ago, while net income of $87 million was up25.9% over the previous third quarter for the IT servicescompany.
During the past nine months, CSC won $4.4 billion in newbusiness, not including the contract awarded last month bythe Internal Revenue Service. CSC expects that the contractfor tax systems modernization, which is for 10 to 15 years,will generate several billion dollars in revenue over itslifetime. The company also acquired the managementconsulting unit of KPMG in France during its third quarter.
Revenue for the past nine months was $5.53 billion, up16.9% from the comparable nine-month period a year ago, withnet income of $224.5 million, up 22.4% from the same periodin 1997.
