Credit Suisse Disruptive Technology Portfolio Mover Of The Week: Kenexa

An index of companies shaking up traditional business models.

Almost every stock in the Credit Suisse Disruptive Technology Portfolio rebounded last week, but Kenexa posted the most profound upward move.

The maker of on-demand employee-recruiting software had traded down for weeks because of concerns about its top accounts. Kenexa's largest 30 customers have boosted the average amount they spend annually with the company, to more than $600,000 currently from around $200,000 in 2002, and investors have used this growth rate as a proxy for forecasting sales for the company. Kenexa management has consistently said it believes it's possible to more than double the average annual spending number to the $1 million to $2 million range. Last week, investors finally got comfortable with that projection and began buying the stock again. Kenexa climbed 12.1% over seven days.

Last week, the Disruptive Technology Portfolio jumped 4.9%, rebounding from several weeks of declines. It significantly outperformed the S&P 500, which rose 1.8%.
