CBS News Adds Search Feature From Answers.com

AnswerTips is an interactive reference tool for visitors to get definitions, biographies, historical information, maps, and other content related to CBS News stories.

CBSNews.com on Monday launched a feature from search engine Answers.com that enables a visitor to get more information on a word or phrase within a news story.

AnswerTips is meant as an interactive reference tool for visitors to get definitions, biographies, historical information, maps and other content related to CBSNews stories. To access the information, visitors hold the ALT key on their keyboard and click on a word or phrase.

The additional information is presented in a co-branded window. Clicking on the "more" button sends the user to Answers.com for more in-depth content about the topic.

Betsy Morgan, senior vice president of CBS Digital Media, said in a statement that the partnership reflects CBSNews.com's goal of providing "the deepest background materials available anywhere."

"This partnership with Answers Corp. gives us another tool to reach that goal." Morgan said.

Founded in 1999, Answers Corp., former known as GuruNet, owns and operates Ansers.com.
