Camelot Rolls Out Tool For ERP Customization, Integration
Consulting company Camelot IS-2 International this week willdebut an application development and integration environment
for the enterprise resource planning and supply-chain
markets.
The Skyva Solution is based on the premise that a company's
business model is the foundation of an application. Skyva
lets developers model or incorporate existing business
processes into an application. Skyva then generates the
needed application logic and links to existing software,
such as enterprise resource systems and legacy applications.
Skyva is based on the IBM San Francisco Project component
framework and supports Informix, Oracle, Sybase, and IBM DB2
databases. The Skyva Solution Library is a repository of
Java objects used to build an application and link them to
existing company data sources.
Camelot was founded by former SAP executive Guenther
Moeckesch in response to customer difficulties in extending
and customizing ERP packages. ERP software typically
requires users to change their business processes to fit the
model supported in the software, says Bryce Betteridge, VP
of Camelot.
Bertelsmann AG's Sonopress division and IBM are early users
of the software. Sonopress, which manufactures audio CDs,
used Skyva to alter SAP R/3's production planning module.
IBM used Skyva to integrate its commercial Cipros oil
refinery management application and SAP R/3.
