Cabletron Systems today named a new general manager to lead its Spectrum network and systems-management business unit. Katrinka McCallum, formerly the director of worldwide operations for software at Cabletron, will oversee the approximately 400 people devoted to the development and marketing of Spectrum products and services.
A Cabletron spokeswoman says McCallum's "solutions approach to the business" makes her a good choice to run Spectrum. Last month, Cabletron launched new fixed-price bundles of software and consulting services that it says can cut customers' costs by as much as 20%. Cabletron says it will expand that program under McCallum.
McCallum replaces former Spectrum general manager Ken Sullivan, who Cabletron said was leaving to pursue other interests.
