B-To-B Exchange For China's Electronics Industry Is On The Way

The logistics and procurement exchange will connect Chinese original equipment manufacturers with their parts suppliers and with international customers.

Business Commerce Ltd., the Hong Kong subsidiary of Global eXchange Services Inc., and ChinaECNet Friday announced an agreement to jointly develop and establish a B-to-B electronic-transaction exchange for the electronics industry in China.

e-Hub is expected to enable information exchange between original-equipment manufacturers in China and their suppliers of electronic parts in China. The logistics and procurement-exchange platform also will connect those manufacturers with international customers and suppliers, using RosettaNet and XML standards-based technologies.

ChinaECNet, a digital media and E-commerce network for China's electronic-manufacturing industry, is a joint venture between the China Centre for Industry Information Development under the Ministry of Information Industry, electronic distributor Avnet Inc., and Global Techmart Inc. "Strengthening the electronics supply chain and material information management is an important step toward utilizing advanced information technology to reform and improve the manufacturing supply and distribution of electronics enterprises," said Gou Zhongwen, vice minister of China's Ministry of Information Industry, in a statement.

Global eXchange Services operates a large business-to-business E-commerce network, managing one billion transactions annually for more than 100,000 trading partners. The company provides software, hosted solutions and consulting services to streamline supply-chain operations for companies.
