As Melanie notes below, Aspect Software has acquired BlueNote technologies.  I first became exposed to BlueNote several years ago as one of the first vendors to demonstrate a development platform to enable integration of business process applications with communications services.  More recently, BlueNote has added some interesting capabilities to deliver light-weight web-based applets including a softphone.

IMHO this move represents a further blurring of the lines between telecom and software as a result of unified communications and CEBP.   BlueNote had several intriguing applications involving integrating of call features into web-based applications.  The acquisition gives Aspect further capabilities to build new telephony features into its UC product line.
