ROI Direct.com, an application service provider (ASP), has developed a new offering that is designed to share customer registration information between two or more related Web sites.
The new feature, called registrant data integration, allows customer registration and shopping-cart information, such as addresses, quantity, and description of items, to be preserved as customers roam or link to related sites. This feature transfers data to connected sites in real time and presents a unified view of the customer that ROI Direct.com says will enable E-businesses to make personalized offers based on customers' preferences and habits.
The company says the new feature benefits both customers and E-businesses by simplifying site access and making the checkout process quicker. The company expects that its feature will reduce the incidence of cart abandonment by frustrated customers who are either discouraged by having to fill out long checkout forms or who have trouble getting back to commerce sites once they've roamed to related links.
