Business process management firm Metastorm plans to integrate business intelligence capability from Hyperion into its BPM software, under terms of a partnership announced Monday.

The agreement will result in the addition of personalized dashboards, reporting and analytics functionality to Metastorm's e-Work BPM software, the companies said. A Hyperion Web-enabled dashboard will let users drill into process data collected by e-Work from process alerts or a database repositories.

Hyperion's BI capability will let users carry out analysis for future process design work or assist in the resolution of immediate, ad hoc process exceptions. Metastorm's software will continue to serve as the direct management interface for BPM cycles that tap the Hyperion functionality.

Metastorm hopes the ability to access and analyze information related to business processes will appeal to customers trying to reduce cycle times, improve productivity or cut operational costs.
