Business performance management (BPM) software firm OutlookSoft has named a veteran of enterprise applications maker PeopleSoft as its CEO, the company said Monday.

Prior to his new chief executive role, Phil Wilmington served as co-president of PeopleSoft, leading international field operations for that firm. He also held the position of vice president of the Americas at PeopleSoft, overseeing product sales, service, support and business alliances. Wilmington worked at PeopleSoft for 12 years, during a period of dramatic growth at the software firm.

"We are only at the beginning stages of growth for the BPM market," Wilmington said in a statement. "OutlookSoft is leading the charge by tapping the best people, developing market-leading BPM solutions and delivering world-class customer service -- I'm excited to be a part of the team."

Wilmington will oversee the strategic direction of OutlookSoft and assume responsibility for the company's expansion. OutlookSoft's principal product is Everest, a Web-based BPM tool built around Microsoft's business intelligence architecture.

PeopleSoft was acquired by business software giant Oracle in December after a prolonged takeover battle.
