America Online will offer Charles Schwab & Co. Inc.'s financial tools and investment information on its AOL, CompuServe, Netscape.com, and Digital City sites. The initial deployment is scheduled to begin by year's end, first in the United States and later in Asia and Europe.
Both companies will cross-promote each other's Web sites and services, and will integrate their content on Internet, wireless, and broadband channels. Schwab's takeaway from the deal is access to AOL's combined 28 million-plus members. AOL already offers some financial services from Citigroup.
