AOL Offers Live Stream Of QVC Shopping Network

The programming is the result of a strategic alliance struck between AOL and QVC, which plans to add its On Demand channel to AOL Video next week.

AOL on Thursday launched its first live streaming video Web channel, broadcasting Liberty Media Corp.'s QVC home-shopping TV network.

The programming is the result of a strategic alliance struck between AOL, a unit of Time Warner Inc., and QVC, which plans to add its On Demand channel to AOL Video next week.

The live stream will coincide with the shopping channel's live 24/7 format. The QVC On Demand content would include more than 400 clips of video from a variety of prior programming events and shows. The content would be updated daily.

QVC said the partnership opens up another avenue for reaching shoppers who may not be in front of a TV. "QVC is continually looking for new ways to be everywhere consumers want to shop," Bob Myers, senior VP of QVC.com, said in a statement.
