All-In-One Package Aids Network Troubleshooting



SilverBack Technologies Inc. this week is unveilingInfoCare, a hardware, software, middleware, and service package designed to make it easier to collect and use network data.

InfoCare includes an Intel server running Red Hat Linux 6.1 installed on the client's site. The server comes preconfigured with database software from Sybase Inc., security-scanning software from Network Associates Inc., and polling, asset-inventory, and root-cause analysis software from Riversoft Ltd. That package is connected to the client's network via Extensible Markup Language middleware created by SilverBack that accesses the server through a virtual private network.

SilverBack provides remote service activation, proactive software upgrades, maintenance, and network troubleshooting, and it backs up the client's local database weekly. InfoCare is priced from $1,000 to $3,000 monthly, depending upon the services selected.

Customers can also access SilverBack's InfoPortal, a Web site that provides information about their software upgrades, maintenance records, troubleshooting, and historical data.
