HP, CDW Team to Sell to SMBs

SMBs that work with Hewlett-Packard's channel partners will soon be dealing with a new middleman: CDW.According to a CDW memo obtained by Everything Channel, HP and CDW will next month begin a partnership in which the vendor will co-fund HP-only CDW salespeople selling HP products into accounts with 400 or fewer employees. It also appears that CDW will take on much of the role of HP's former HP call center staff, which sold the vendor's products directly to SMB customers.

"CDW plans to add 110 salespeople who will specialize in selling HP servers, storage, notebooks, desktops, printing and imaging," the memo stated. The alliance is expected to be in full swing by January.ChannelWeb
