HomeSeer Technologies and iAutomate.com plan to bundle HomeSeer's home automation software with iAutomate's RFID hardware kit beginning starting this month. The bundle will enable the use of RFID technology to trigger HomeSeer "home automation events."

"With RFID technology from iAutomate.com, it's now possible to track the whereabouts of people, pets and possessions from within HomeSeer and to initiate home control events based on that information," said Mark Colegrove, director of sales and marketing for HomeSeer Technologies in a press release. "Imagineas you navigate through your house, HomeSeer can track where you are and automatically adjust lighting, music and temperature control in those areas, all without uttering a word or touching a switch! The applications are endless."

The RFID Starter kit includes HomeSeer v1.7.3, iAutomate's RFID software plug-in, one R500HA Long Range RFID reader, and The R500HA breakout cable with power supply. Users need to supply any of a variety of long range RFID tags from iAutomate's line designed for autos, people, and physical assets, which are sold separately.

The kit is available on the iAutomate.com web site for $477.95.
