Adobe Announces Acrobat 9 With Flash Support

Adobe Systems is getting ready to roll out Acrobat 9, the latest version of its document management software, plus it has put into beta a community site that lets users store and share files.The Flash-enabled Acrobat 9, which runs on Mac OS X and Windows systems, will let users embed Flash video and other multimedia content in PDF documents. The software also supports "PDF Portfolios," which comprise a variety of multimedia files, such as documents, video, audio and 3D content, that are compressed into a single PDF file. Acrobat 9, due out next month, will come in three flavors: Standard ($299), Pro ($449) and Pro Extended ($699).

Meanwhile, Adobe's Acrobat.com hosted service provides document storage and ConnectNow collaboration facilities, which lets users work on documents together using instant messaging, voice or video conferencing. Users will also get access to Adobe's the Buzzword word processor.PC Pro, BBC News
