Cyberattack activity increased 79% between July and December last year, according to a survey of 300 businesses released last week by security services vendor Riptech Inc. The survey analyzed attacks by geography and company type and said most attacks were launched from China, South Korea, and the United States. Power and energy companies suffered severe attacks at almost twice the rate of other industries.
