AOL Simplifies Widget Creation for Advertisers
Social Media Portal, CNETPlatform-A, AOL's digital advertising subsidiary, is upping the interactive ante with a free service that simplifies the creation, syndication and measurement of widget-based ad campaigns. The service is powered by Groowy Media, which AOL acquired earlier this year to advance its widget-based advertising push. Once an advertiser creates a widget, it can then be sent to Platform-A's distribution network, which, according to Comscore, is the top-ranked ad network, ahead of Yahoo and Google. The "grabbable" nature of widgets make them easy to embed within third-party sites.
"Widget-based advertising is gaining momentum in the industry," said Platform-A president Lynda Clarizio in a statement. For an example of widget advertising campaign, click here.Social Media Portal, CNET
